| Dr. Andris Kazmers, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Kazmers graduated from Wayne State University Medical School and completed his general surgery residency at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was the first vascular surgery fellow at the University of Michigan receiving two additional years of training in vascular surgery. Dr. Kazmers received his Master of Science in Public Health from University of Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky.
Dr. Kazmers has the distinction of being the only board certified vascular surgeon at Northern Michigan Regional Hospital. He also maintains board certification in general surgery, critical care, and has a master’s degree in public health. He was recognized as America’s Top Surgeons, 2006, 2007 Consumers’ Research Council of America and was recently named to “Best Docs+”.
Dr. Kazmers moved to Petoskey in 2001 joining Petoskey Surgeons, P.C. Dr. Kazmers has privileges at Northern Michigan Regional Hospital where he provides the following major artery revascularization:
- Peripheral Intervention
- Angioplasty and stenting
- Endovascular and open aortic aneurysm repair
- Renal artery angioplasty and bypass
- Carotid artery surgery and angioplasty or stent
- Thoracoabdominal aneurysm repair
Dr. Kazmers is a member of:
- Society of Vascular Surgery
- American Venous Forum
- International Society of Endovascular Specialists
- Society For Vascular Ultrasound
- Michigan Vascular Society
- Society of Critical Care Medicine
At Northern Michigan Regional Hospital, Dr. Kazmers serves as a member of the following:
- Chairs the endovascular committee
- Serves on CME, and Ethic’s and Heart and Vascular Committees
- Two committees pertaining to quality of care
In his free time, Dr. Kazmers enjoys spending time with his family.
