The NIVA (Non-Invasive Vascular Assessment) Lab is a Vascular Laboratory specializing in the non-invasive screening, diagnosis, and management of vascular (blood vessel) disease. The procedures performed are painless and without side effects.
Zachary A. Horton, M.D.
Dr. Horton received his undergraduate and medical training at Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. After receiving his M.D. degree, he moved to Grand Rapids, MI where he completed a five year general surgery residency at Spectrum Health and Saint Mary’s Medical Center. He served as chief surgical resident from July 2008 to June 2009, mentoring residents and medical students. He has been actively involved in surgical research and education. While in Grand Rapids, Dr. Horton received a broad general surgical training, completing approximately 1200 surgical cases. During that time, he developed special interests in surgical oncology, surgical endocrinology and minimally invasive surgery.
The opportunity to join an excellent surgical practice and live in beautiful northern Michigan, drew Dr. Horton to Petoskey. He began his practice with Petoskey Surgeons, P.C. in July 2009.
Dr. Horton is an associate member of the American College of Surgeons and an elected member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society.
Dr. Horton resides in Petoskey with his wife and two children. He and his family enjoy water sports, down hill skiing, golfing, camping and traveling. They are looking forward to becoming part of the Petoskey community.
