Shane Brown, M.D.
Dr. Brown received his undergraduate training from
Miami University in 1996. He earned his M.D. from the
University of Cincinnati in 2000 and went on to complete
his surgical training at Mount Carmel Medical Center
in Columbus, Ohio. He served as Chief Surgical / Administrative
Resident from July 2004 to July 2005.
Dr. Brown's surgical training included a broad experience
in minimally invasive techniques including laparoscopic
surgery of the gastrointestinal tract and incisional
hernia repair. His goals are to expand the current surgical
treatment options to more minimally invasive techniques
to minimize discomfort.
Dr. Brown moved to Northern Michigan in June of 2005
to begin his practice at Northern Michigan Hospital
with Petoskey Surgeons, P.C. He serves on the Pharmacy
and Therapeutics Committee and Surgical Services Executive Committee. He
is also a diplomat of the American Board of Surgery.
Dr. Brown and his wife reside in Charlevoix with their
three daughters. He enjoys downhill skiing, golf, and
hopes to travel the region in the coming years.
